Position: Health & Safety Manager
Location: Kamloops, BC (Corporate Office) – with travel to work sites across Canada
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm - (1/2-hour lunch)
Reports to: Vice President, Business Development
Department: Management – Health & Safety
Salary: $120,000 - $140,000 annually plus an Annual Incentive Plan

Big Country Equipment Repair Ltd. is a BC-based heavy equipment service and repair company supporting resource-sector customers in construction, forestry, mining, and oil and gas across Canada. Founded in 2017, we have grown rapidly from a one-truck operation to more than 100 employees and a fleet of 35 fully tooled service trucks. Our team provides reliable 24/7 service, 365 days a year, to customers in multiple provinces.
Job Overview:
The Health & Safety Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the well-being of our employees, protecting company assets, and supporting environmental stewardship. This role is responsible for leading and advancing our safety culture by developing, implementing, and maintaining effective health and safety programs that meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience in the oil, gas, and mining sectors and understands the unique risks, hazards, and operational demands within these industries. The Health & Safety Manager is responsible for injury and illness management, regulatory compliance management and tracking for our service employees, and manages the incident investigation and emergency response programs.
This role must reside in the Kamloops area and operate out of the Kamloops Corporate Office. Regular travel to communities we operate in is required.
