Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an ICU RN for a VAD Coordinator role in Washington, DC, requiring a DC RN license and strong VAD management experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Work in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) as a VAD Coordinator
• Monday through Friday day shift (8:00am to 4:30pm)
• Weeknight and weekend call required, typically remote unless onsite presence is medically necessary
• Patients with ventricular assist devices (VADs); responsible for device coordination during procedures and operations
• Coordinate with equipment and materials management teams to maintain VAD inventory and respond to FDA recalls
• Take VAD-related call and participate in on-site procedures as needed
• Modules and orientation sessions are required prior to and potentially during assignment
• No more than 7 days of time off allowed during the 13-week contract, with no time off in the first two weeks
• Candidates living within a 60-mile radius are considered local and subject to different pay rates

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active DC RN license required prior to start; pending DC license accepted with proof of application
• Current BLS certification required
• Proficiency in VAD management is required; VAD certification is preferred within 18 months of hire
• Experience in CVICU setting required
• Ability to educate patients and families regarding VADs according to regulatory standards
• Must provide two supervisor references for consideration
• Must not have worked for Medstar within the past year
