Production Supervisor – Day Shift

Location: Clayton–Smithfield, NC Area

About the Role:
Aegis Worldwide is a recruiting firm partnered with a global manufacturer near the Clayton/Smithfield, NC area. We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to join their fast-paced manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a hands-on approach to daily production operations, and a continuous improvement mindset. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day production activities, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency while developing and leading a team of 20+ employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate production operations to meet daily and long-term manufacturing goals.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 20+ production employees, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production issues, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and other CI tools to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews, handle disciplinary actions, and manage attendance and scheduling.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve operational challenges and optimize processes.
  • Oversee training and onboarding for new team members to ensure consistent performance and adherence to procedures.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on production metrics to management.

Qualifications:

  • 5–8 years of experience in a manufacturing production supervisory or leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing large teams (20+ employees) in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of Lean principles, Continuous Improvement, and root cause analysis.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities with a hands-on management style.
  • Ability to interpret and implement production schedules and process documentation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
