Job Description
Brooksource is looking for an individual for the Network Engineering team for our ecommerce client. We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer IV to support the design, build, and deployment of global DWDM networks. This position supports large-scale, business-critical network initiatives that drive connectivity across the infrastructure. The request is motivated by the ongoing expansion of our global networking footprint and the need for specialized technical support in optical networking and DWDM technologies. This role is central to ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance of the backbone networks.
*Key Responsibilities *
· Design, build, and roll out global DWDM networks.
· Scale and evolve designs to meet future customer demand.
· Create operational processes to build and maintain the optical network.
· Collaborate closely with cross-functional Networking teams.
· Evaluate and influence vendor selection via commercial tenders.
· Ensure network designs adhere to our clients standards and best practices.
· Implement and review changes to optical systems.
· Lead projects focused on improving DWDM network quality and reliability.
· Troubleshoot complex networking issues and deliver innovative solutions.
*Candidate Requirements *
Education & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience.
· 7+ years of industry experience, including large-scale DWDM network deployment.
Technical Skills (Top 3 - Stack Ranked):
· Expertise with DWDM platforms (Ciena, Infinera, Cisco).
· Experience with router platforms, especially Cisco and Juniper.
· Strong background in optical network design, modeling, and operations.
Additional Required Knowledge:
· Strong understanding of IP networking fundamentals and protocols (BGP, OSPF).
· Familiarity with supervisory and line cards for router platforms.
· Experience with internet routing, multicast protocols, VPNs, and network analysis tools.
· Technical knowledge across a broad range of technologies: SONET, TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, VLANs, DNS, netflow, etc.
