\n \n \nMRI Tech FT Nights Position Summary
\n \n \nOperates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies.
\n \n \nResponsibilities
\n \n \nPrepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross-sectional images of the body.
\n \n \nPerforms patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination.
\n \n \nEnters and monitors patient data, transfers images from disk to magnetic media to produce the transparency, and develops film in an automatic processor.
\n \n \nFollows radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
\n \n \nPerforms MRI procedures utilizing a variety of frequencies, planes and techniques.
\n \n \nThis position does not utilize ionizing radiation in the performance of imaging examinations.
\n \n \nCollects pertinent patient history and document on requisition.
\n \n \nCompletes pre-MRI screening questionnaire to assess suitability for magnetic environment.
\n \n \nStarts intravenous access as needed, and perform intravenous injections using proper technique.
\n \n \nUnderstands how to treat patients with infiltrated IV sites.
\n \n \nMaintains proper oxygen therapy on patients who require oxygen.
\n \n \nMaintains skills required to change oxygen tanks.
\n \n \nMust be familiar with the use of masks and nasal canulae.
\n \n \nAdjusts rate of O2 flow with mask/nasal cannula according to written physician orders. Secures, transports, and secures e-cylinders.
\n \n \nRecognizes and responds to emergencies and life-threatening situations.
\n \n \nPromotes MR safety through education of personnel and physicians and monitors environment for potential hazards.

THE MRI TECH FT NIGHTS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
\n \n \nLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION
\n \n \nCertification Required: ARRT- MR, or obtain MR certification within 2 years of hire/transfer date.
\n \n \nCertification Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association.
\n \n \nEDUCATION
\n \n \nRequired: Graduate of an accredited radiology or accredited MRI program.
\n \n \nWORK EXPERIENCE
\n \n \nRequired: None
\n \n \nPreferred: One (1) year experience as a MR Technologist.
