Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Must have at least 12 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.

• 3 months of experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Maine license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >100 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Medical declinations accepted.

• No previous experience allowed for Staff at Facility: Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience:

• 
  
• Cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone), Insulin drips, Heparin drips - training available from charge and educator.
  
• Reading/Interpreting Rhythm strips.
  
• Trach care, Chest tube management, General Medical Surgical skills (wound care, IVABX, Drain/tube management, IV starts, central line management, etc.)
  

Preferred Skills/Experience: Previous charge experience.

Required Credentials: Roles requiring state licensure only: License should not expire within 45 days following start date

Preferred Credentials: EKG interpretation.

Types of Patients on Unit:

• 
  
• Any medical diagnosis except primary Cardiac could be seen on this unit.
  
• Unit will monitor patients on Telemetry (Med-Tele)
  
• Common diagnoses include but are not limited to: Stroke, COPD, Respiratory issues and illnesses – Flu/PNA/COVID, GI Bleed, Renal Failure (AKI/CKD), Electrolyte imbalance, altered mental status, weakness, non-operable fractures
  
• Non-surgical unit
  

Unit/Facility Details:

• 
  
• Beds: 44 private and semi-private rooms
  
• Parking: Free in designated areas
  

Special Requests: Travel Pairs: If you are in a relationship, EMMC will not schedule you on the same days. If you are not in a relationship, you can be scheduled for the same days if not on the same shift/unit. Managers will not guarantee the same schedule for travel pairs.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekend rotation: every other

Floating Requirements: Will float as often as needed to any area with Med/Tele patients (within or below scope)

Housing in ME becomes more expensive in the summer months, beginning in May. Be sure to confirm you are comfortable with housing options before applying.

7 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 01/01/2025, 11/27/2025, 12/25/2025. Number of holidays allowed off: 0
