Health and Wellness Part time Receptionist (Evening)

Title: Health and Wellness Part time Receptionist (Evening)

Department: Center for Health and Wellness

Employment Status: Part time - 16 hours evening

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

Organizational Relationship: Report to the Coordinator for the Center for Health and Wellness

Job Purpose: To maintain an efficient and well-run health office.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Essential Functions:
  • Evidence of ability to function within a cooperative and collaborative environment.
  • Answer telephone calls
  • Make appointments for health and counseling staff
  • Call Labs for pick-ups and for supplies as needed.
  • check sign in sheet, Alert RN, NP and Wellness Staff of emergency / high priority patients.
  • Handle inquiries from student / parent regarding health forms, insurance, and special events.
  • Input student health information and insurance information onto CARS data base.
  • Teach students to complete insurance forms
  • Review and maintain EMR

Non-Essential Functions

  • Fax copies of Student health record to new school or place of employment.
  • Follow-up with student / parents on incomplete forms,
  • Copy documentation of lab results for experiential learning.
  • Provide copies of student health records to student when requested.
  • Handle and prepare paperwork, supplies, copying of handouts for health & wellness special events
  • Collaborate with campus life and IT to advertise programs
  • Assist campus department with publishing and distributing immunization policy and forms to admitted students

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ordering all office supplies
  • Supervise CWS students
  • Prepare and maintain time sheets for staff and student workers.

QUALIFICATIONS

Work Experience:

  • One or more years of experience with administering health insurance and clinical services
  • Receptionist or Medical Assistant with front desk experience preferred

Education:

  • High School Diploma, Secretarial School preferred

Certifications:

  • CPR and AED

Desired Work Traits:

  • Friendly, Works well with others, some medical knowledge,

Computer Skills:

  • Knowledge of CARS system, Microsoft Office, Google Mail
  • Knowledge of EMR

Communication/Interpersonal Skills:

  • Excellent assessment skills,
  • calm nature,
  • able to converse well with students, family, faculty and staff of Health and Wellness
  • strong oral and written communication skills
