Overview

Head Housekeeper role at Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) at the Pinkham Notch location in Gorham, NH. This is a full-time, year-round, benefited position focused on leading and performing housekeeping operations and cultivating a positive team culture.

What youll be doing at AMC

• Responsible for overall cleanliness and functioning of the Pinkham campus. This is a hands-on leadership role.
• Lead, train, schedule and evaluate staff for the housekeeping and overnight attendant functions.
• Hire new employees as needed.
• Provide active supervision and guidance for the team during shifts and communicate regularly to inform and inspire the team.
• Daily laundry/linen operations
• Order all supplies, maintain all equipment, and keep a complete inventory of all items required for operation in the housekeeping and custodial areas
• Serve as a welcoming presence and assist Pinkham Notch Visitor Center visitors and guests in a positive manner; respond to problems or special requests professionally.
• Work with the Pinkham General Manager to inform budget priorities related to housekeeping and custodial operations.
• Coordinate with the Purchasing and Logistics Manager and Kitchen staff to support on-site recycling and Clivus programs.

What AMC is looking for

• At least 2 years of housekeeping experience, including a minimum of 1 year in a lead or supervisory role
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Prior experience in the hospitality industry
• Knowledge of commercial cleaning practices and standards
• Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and evenings
• Positive attitude and enthusiasm about AMCs mission and its programs

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay range: $17.00/hr - $18.00/hr. Salary range: $18.00/hr (initial point may vary by experience and geographic differential). The final offer will be based on experience, education, competencies, and location-related factors.
