The Opportunity Design of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) services within the built environment, with an emphasis on sustainable design Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and consultants to develop integrated solutions for complex buildings Perform engineering analysis and modelling, including whole building load calculations and energy analysis, façade thermal analysis, and airflow modelling Document system design in Revit MEP Communicate technical ideas to a broad range of audiences using various formats, including presentations and workshops Write reports documenting calculation methods and results, design assumptions, and other technical information Demonstrate the ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work, and maintain exceptional organization in a dynamic environment Influence design toward sustainable outcomes for clients in line with Arup sustainability commitments Is this role right for you? Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Building Sciences related degree Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Building Sciences related degree preferred Coursework in heat transfer and thermodynamics, fluid dynamics or HVAC design Developing interest in the built environment Proven leadership experience and time management skills Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way Initiative, enthusiasm, eagerness to learn, teamwork, and creativity Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working Presentation skills with colleagues and clients at all levels Internship experience in engineering-related firms preferred Fundamentals of Engineering examination preferred Membership in ASHRAE, USGBC, ASME preferred Coursework in energy/thermal modeling, Revit or 3D modeling and/or sustainability-focused coursework preferred Advanced computational modeling (e.g., CFD) preferred Computer programming languages (e.g., Dynamo, Python, Grasshopper) preferred Must be eligible to work in the US without the need for employer-sponsored work authorization now or in the future We’re Looking For Recent and soon-to-be graduates in relevant fields Changemakers with a passion for sustainable development Innovative minds who embrace new ideas and challenge the status quo Growth seekers with a growth mindset Adaptable adventurers ready to take on challenges What We Offer You At Arup, we care about each member’s success, so we can grow together. San Francisco Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in San Francisco, CA is $77,500 - $84,500 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Hiring ranges outside San Francisco may differ.
