Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager's Mission
To manage all Food Safety and Assurance challenges to include overseeing all aspects of quality assurance and food safety for all products produced in the smoked meat production department of Prasek's Hillje Smokehouse
Key Skills
* HACCP trained with knowledge of HACCP regulations, principles and standards
* Knowledge of BRC Code and willing to become BRC Certified.
* Have the ability to communicate with all departments and manage all quality and food safety issues
Requirements:Essential Functions
? Develop, implement and manage food safety programs based on BRC, HACCP and Corporate programs
? Review, validate and verify food safety and quality programs on a regular basis, annually at minimum
? Manage plant allergen program and preventing cross contact throughout the facilities
? Manage and coordinate food safety and quality training programs for Team Players
? Manage and coordinate all facility third party and customer audits. Helping in corrective actions for third party audit non conformances for the auditors
? Participate in third party and regulatory audits
? Work on the finished product and raw material safety, quality, and authenticity
? Work with production personnel to find root the cause of food safety and quality issues and develop corrective actions and preventative measures
? Manage FSQM goals for the meat production facilities and staff and evaluate the performance based on the set goals
? Be the plant representative for providing response to regulatory non conformances
? Manage and/or analyze all testing in the plant
Education, Knowledge and Experience
? Relative Bachelor degree preferred, or several years of successful food safety and quality assurance management experience
? Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word with the ability and willingness to learn other applicable technology-based applications
? Knowledge of government regulations and willing to stay in tune with changes
Physical and Other Requirements
? Must be able to lift and carry 60 pounds
? Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, squat, reach overheard and side-to-side for an extended period of time
? As dictated by business and need, must be able to work extended hours and varying work schedule.
Typical work week would include a minimum of 45 hours and participation in preop at least 3 days per week.
