Job Summary:
This position assists with ceramics room, demand response and daily fixed route transportation, group shopping, senior outings, Meals-On-Wheels delivery, Congregate Meals, and special senior center day and evening programs.

Essential Functions:
These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position.
Responsible for the ceramics program and maintains the ceramic work area and equipment.
Covers daily fixed route transportation when needed. Drives 24 passenger bus as needed.
Schedules and transports demand-response transportation clients to doctor’s appointments.
Assists Senior Services Manager and Transportation Coordinator with special events and Senior Center programs.
Delivers Meals-on-Wheels when needed.
Works as chaperone on scheduled group shopping trips and charters.
Assists with meal preparation and service.

Additional Duties :
Employees in this classification may be expected to perform any related duties as required by proper authority.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of the geography of Rockdale County, including roads and street addresses.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written communications.
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others including staff, vendors, clients, and volunteers.
Ability to lift more than 60 pounds.
Ability to transport seniors in large passenger vans.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, see, smell, taste, hear, and speak in order to perform a variety of job tasks.

Working Conditions:
Work is typically performed in a vehicle, the ceramics room, kitchen, and dining room settings.

Minimum Qualifications: 1) High school diploma or equivalent.
2) OR have a combination of education, training and work experience that is equivalent to #1 above that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job.
3) Valid State of Georgia driver’s license. Must possess a Class C Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or obtain within six (6) months of hire date.
4) CPR and First Aid Certifications.

Preference: 1) Six (6) months of experience driving a multi-passenger vehicle.
