POSITION SUMMARY 

Data Analyst II – Responsible for the development of reports, performance dashboards, program analysis, and analytical tools for use in analyzing data, measuring performance outcomes, and supporting leaders in making decisions related to the child welfare population. Provide technical assistance, evaluate practices and outcomes through data analysist to guide teams in data driven decision making to enhance child and family services. Responsible for performing a variety of services in support of agency analysis and quality improvement, ensuring compliance with DCFS, DHS, Medicaid, COA and other accreditation and funder standards as applicable. Develop tools and methods for data collection. Collects, organizes, and interprets data sets to help improve agency services, operations and strategies. Data compiled and analyzed includes outcomes, quality reviews, satisfaction surveys and other reports concerning quality improvement activities and results. This position will partner with staff to help understand the impact and goals of data entry and analysis for all roles in the program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Planning

• Assists with the development of outcome definition and data collection methods.

• Develops various types of reports to analyze performance metrics, program outcomes, and trends

• Liaise between leadership, direct service staff, and information/technology to coordinate continuous quality improvement in data collection methods

• Effectively analyze data and articulate implications for program, agency, and federal programming

• Support all agency requested data needs that support Hoyleton’s standard of excellence and report any data trends or implications that have potential to impact agency decisions and/or department functioning.

Reporting and Analysis

• Provides regular reporting within specified deadlines. Track and interpret data from external funder Quality Improvement/Assurance systems for designated programs.

• Manages the development, implementation and maintenance of reports, dashboards and analysis tools

• Regularly performs special projects and assignments, such as ad-hoc department reporting and program analyses

• Documents processes and procedures used for all reporting and analyses

• Assist in identification, collection and interpretation of data for agency risk related items, in collaboration with Risk Management Partner

• Creates and maintains ad hoc and routine performance metrics reports.

• Assist in the response to and fulfillment of public and government agency requests for data and information.

Program Support

• Support Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) across multiple programs and departments. Designs program reports, analyzes performance, and provides resulting analyses to stakeholders

• Develop and maintain mechanisms to monitor program performance and assess the effectiveness of program interventions

• Collaborate effectively with staff at all levels to understand the impact and goals of data entry and analysis for all roles in the program. 

Tool Development & Maintenance

• Helps refine program management practices through the creation of new reporting and analytical tools

• Helps to design, build and maintain analytical support tools

• Supports QI planning and execution activities, providing data-informed observations and recommendations.

• Present a complicated topic in a non-technical manner both visually and verbally communicate to multiple levels of staff and leadership within the agency

Administrative Support

• Performs administrative duties associated with financial, or operational data analysis and reporting

• Assist with development of performance metrics for Administrative Departments (HR, Finance, Training, etc.) and data tracking methods

• Assist with data needs related to identification of trends and implications related to critical incidents

Requirements

SKILLS and ABILITIES 

  • Experience with Salesforce, Microsoft office, including Excel and the ability to adapt to new data management systems. 
  • Possesses the experience, personal qualities and practice skills to work effectively with professionals from a variety of disciplines both internally and externally. 
  • Experience developing and analyzing concise, visually informative reports. 
  • Attention to detail. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • An ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Ability to problem solve. 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor’s degree in business or related field required OR a certification in Data Analytics 
  • Minimum of two years’ experience performing generating, interpreting, and forecasting data 
  • Prior experience in nonprofit organizations, preferably child welfare, behavioral health, or healthcare settings. 
  • Must be at least 21 years of age 
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license 
  • Must possess and maintain proof of automobile insurance

CARE & TCI 

Hoyleton has adopted the CARE (Children and Residential Experience), developed by Cornell University, to guide our culture and practice. CARE is grounded in six core principles: Developmentally Focused, Family Involved, Relationship Based, Ecologically Oriented, Competence Centered, and Trauma Informed. 

Completion of CARE and TCI training is an internal requirement for all staff and must be completed upon hire. Ongoing application of these principles is expected and essential to successful job performance. 

TCI (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention) . Employees must:

  • Pass the written test annually
  • Pass the physical test every six months ( if applicable to their role )

Monthly refresher opportunities are provided. Employees who fall out of compliance may be required to retake the full course. Consistent participation and application of both CARE and TCI are essential to job performance.

Salary Description

$20.81 an hour to $31.22 an hour
