Job Description

Rhodes, Young, Black & Duncan, CPA is looking for an Audit Associate to join our team in Duluth.

Candidate will be responsible for working with external clients to assist in developing and executing audit plans. You will play a key role in the success of the group by developing document requests and coordinating delivery of evidence to our clients, as well as assist in the performance of special reviews and other duties as they arise.

Responsibilities:

    • Identify accounting and auditing issues in the engagement that need to be discussed and evaluated with the supervisor
    • Work to fully comprehend the purpose of audit steps and be able to execute the steps with increasingly less supervision
    • Develop skills for interacting with client personnel
    • Timely completing tasks and delivering finish products to the client.
    • Exceeding expectations
      • At lower levels with reviewer, manager and partner
      • At upper levels with the clients
    • Ownership and accountability of tasks at that level
    • Keep current on all professional pronouncements, such as ASUs, that impact the industries served or audit or accounting areas you are working on
    • Studying for CPA exam
    • Attend a client engagement meeting to determine timelines and goals of an audit.
    • Research business trends within an industry to professionally represent a company and apply this knowledge to the client’s solutions, potentially developing new or additional business for the Firm.
    • Prepare accounting-related reports through a paperless environment.
    • Provide financial analysis upon completion of fieldwork in an effort to improve client internal controls and accounting procedures.
    • Perform work accurately and in a time efficient manner, with strong attention to detail, organization and follow through
    • Ability to accept constructive feedback, making adjustments as directed
    • Ability to work collaboratively and foster a productive, team-oriented environment with both colleagues and clients
    • Must possess excellent communication skills and be comfortable with client contact
    • Adhere to internal Firm deadlines (time entry)
    • Able to contribute ideas and add value to team
