Job Description and Duties

Responsible for the system processes related to Financial System for California (FI$Cal) Month-End Close and FI$Cal Year-End Close. Coordinates the monthly closing of the following submodules: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Project costing, Labor Distribution, Purchase Order, Asset Management, and General Ledger. Ensure monthly depreciation is ran correctly and that transactions are posted accurately in the Asset Management submodule. Assist the General Ledger in generating and preparing Financial Reports. Oversee the FI$Cal Labor Distribution and Cost Allocation configurations to ensure expenditures are allocated within the department's budgeted authority. Maintain the Departmental Fl$Cal Chart of Accounts to ensure that organization and program structures are tracked and meet all of the departmental reporting needs. Serve as a Departmental Authority and Designee (DAD) to process FI$Cal role mapping for the department.

  1. Describe your experience with FI$Cal and/or any other Accounting Financial Systems.
  2. Describe your experience utilizing analytical tools to analyze financial data. How do you ensure it is complete, accurate, and in compliance with laws, rules, policies and procedures?
  3. Describe your experience in State government accounting or any private sector equivalent related to month-end closing and year-end closing processes.
